The Heart of Darkness

The Associated Press reports that Iraqi troops, reportedly tasked to clear out areas bypassed by U.S. troops, have found "hostage slaughterhouses" in Fallujah, where foreign captives were held and killed. According to Maj. Gen. Abdul Qader Mohammed Jassem Mohan, troops have found black clothing such as has been seen on the videotaped beheadings, as well as hundreds of CDs and documents that record the names of the hostages. Mohan did not know if the hostage records included any of the names of the at least nine foreigners still thought to be held by the kidnappers, including Margaret Hassan, Christian Chesnot, Georges Malbrunot and two unnamed Americans.
